The Ford Center in Downtown Evansville is the official home of the University of Evansville's Men's and Women's Purple Aces basketball teams as well as the ECHL team the Evansville IceMen.

The 11,000-seat arena opened its doors to the public on November 12, 2011 when the IceMen took on and defeated the Fort Wayne Komets 3-1.

Designed as a replacement for the now demolished Roberts Stadium, the new cultural hub hosted large musical acts such as Elton John and Judas Priest in its first year alone.
