By the 1880's in Evansville, Sunset Park along the Ohio riverfront was quickly becoming one of the city's most popular gathering spots, because of the stunning sunsets, obviously.
The Pagoda we see in Sunset Park today was originally constructed in 1912 (yeah, we were surprised, too) as a public facility and social hub. Though the structure survived the infamous 1937 Flood, it wasn't fully repaired until 1995 when it was refurbished into the unmistakable modern-day Visitors Center.
